My dad used to call them "shekelgrubers".
A term that even thou I knew what it meant, I have never been able to find in all of the online dictionaries.
That includes slang dictionaries.
The shekel, I believe was a unit of money.
The "gruber" should be self explanitory.
Dad made it sound like all one word.
And it meant those people who were hell bent in raking in every dollar they could, no mater what.

Name those greedheads!
Last month, I asked my radio listeners to come up with new words to describe the abominable sense of self-entitlement that presently afflicts Wall Street bankers. I noted that terms like "greedy," "shameful," and "narcissistic" were way too mild to do the job. Here are a few of their creations (excluding numerous four-letter offerings):
Then there's the fellow who proposed an existing term--"psychotic."
