Keep an eye out for Doris Haddock; 'Granny D,' is an 89-year-old great-grand- mother on a mission to help get the corrupbng power of big campaign money out of polites. To rally public sup- port Granny D is walking across America-all 3,000 miles of it

"Call me crazy, call me God-sent" she says, "I am on a crusade to create a ground swell for campaign finance reform to eliminate the cancer [of big money]." She flew from her New Hampshire home out to California and hit the road east January 1.

She plans to average 10 miles a day through California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Vironia, Vironia-and sometime next November, to cross the Potomac and walk straight to the halls of Congress, where she'll deliver the petitions that she will have gotten signed along the way.

She's asking people for a meal, a warm place to steep, and, of course, to sign and spread her pettions. You'll be hearing much more about her. To join Granny D's crusade, contact her at www.grannyd.com or call 1-800-298-2182.
