Do something!

What can we do about urban legends? Well, we can expose and correct legends the Bushites promote, but we also need to guard against the truth being wrongly dismissed as legend.
Like...was the 2004 election stolen? Was there fraud and computer hacking, as well as the obvious dirty tricks of keeping people off the rolls and making voters stand in line for hours? A growing body of evidence says yes, computers screwed up vote counts due to programming errors and probably fraud. It looks more likely every day that at least in Florida, some county tallies were changed.
Thousands of amateur sleuths, lawyers, computer geeks, and statisticians are on this case, with their reports all over the internet but also getting some mainstream airtime. Keith Olberman's Countdown program on MSNBC has been most prominent, though even Keith is too ready to cry "conspiracy nuts" whenever a theory proves unfounded.
To review and correct a national election is a vast and crucial undertaking. Lowdown will keep track as best we can when facts and theories change every day online. For now, what's important is that this very real drama is NOT dismissed as...just another urban legend.
What the hell's happening here? Why is my bank in the tank? And my house and job? And my retirement money? Even my state's teetering on the brink of broke! Who did this to us? Fair questions, but we're not getting honest answers.
