AGITATE: Call your legislators (Capitol switchboard: 888-449-3511), and tell them to get moving on a law requiring mandatory labeling of genetically engineered food. We don't want to be the guinea pigs for the "life science" corporation's Frankenfood research.
Save the butterflies! Call EPA Administrator Carol Browner (202-260-4700) and ask her to deny any further approval or renewal of Bt corn until there is a program in place to protect butterflies and moths and prevent any other adverse ecological affects.
GET INFORMED. The Unions of Concerned Scientists has done their homework on this issue and is fighting on the side of public safety. Contact them at 202-332-0900 or their Web site at www.ucsus.org.
If you want to be sure you're not ingesting any Frankenfoods, best you can do is buy organic! It's not exactly cheap, but just about everything can be gotten organic if you insist on it.
